NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Mary T. Huffman, a longtime New Rochelle resident, died Oct. 17. She was 97.
Huffman was born March 1, 1916, in New Rochelle, to Angelo and Theresa (Gullo) Zaffino. She worked for many years in an insurance company she and her husband owned. After her husband’s death in 1993 she went on to work as a customer service representative at Mobil Oil. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church where she served on their altar guild. She was a former member of the NY Athletic Club and was active in The Garden Club of New Rochelle.
Huffman is survived by her son, Harold G. Huffman, Jr.; a granddaughter; sister, Clara Schmalzigan; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband Harold G. Huffman, Sr. Calling hours are Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle where a service will take place a 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Beechwoods cemetery.
