NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Mary H. Govers, a longtime New Rochelle resident, died Sept. 12. She was 89. 

Govers was born June 7, 1923, in New Jersey to George and Veronica Govers. A retired teacher, she worked at Jefferson School in New Rochelle for many years. 

Visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Covenant House.
