Margaret M. Herring, 94, Longtime New Rochelle Resident

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Margaret M. Herring, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Oct. 27. She was 94.

Herring was born June 17, 1920, in Philadelphia, to Silas Clarke and Mary (Walsh) Herring. She  worked for many years in public relations for various government agencies and politicians including President Eisenhower, Gov. Nelson Rockefeller, and Mayor John Lindsey.

Herring is survived by her niece, Elizabeth Kyle; nephews, Philip Gaucher and Richard Herring; three great nephews and a great-great niece. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Lilyan Amy and Marion Gaucher; and brother, Frederick Herring; and nephews, Alfred V. Amy and Donald Herring.

Calling hours are Sunday, Nov. 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a service at 12 noon.
