NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Mamie S. Terry, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Oct. 4. She was 92.
Terry was born Feb. 1, 1922, to Turner and Lillie (Walton) Strohman in Orangeburg, S.C. A graduate of New Rochelle public schools, South Carolina State, Columbia and Bank Street Teachers College with a Masters Degree. She was a retired New Rochelle Public School teacher and life member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church of New Rochelle. She was also a member of the New Rochelle United Methodist Church.
Terry is survived by her daughter, Carole A. Terry; sister-in-law, Miriam Strohman; nieces, nephews; cousins; and others.
Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the New Rochelle United Methodist Church, 1200 North Ave., New Rochelle. Funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Interment at Beechwoods Cemetery, New Rochelle Friday, Oct. 10 in the morning.
