NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. Lewis P. Ingram, a longtime New Rochelle resident, died Friday, Oct. 12. He was 78.
He was born Feb. 21, 1934, in New York City to Lewis and Margaret Larkin Ingram. A Navy veteran, he retired from the New Rochelle post office and the New Rochelle City School District.
Ingram was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the New Rochelle Irish Benevolent Society and the New Rochelle Elks Club. He was also an avid New York Giants fan.
He is survived by three children, Mary Beth (Jack) Mallon, Timothy (Deirdre) Ingram and Stephen (Sharon) Ingram; a brother, William; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of more than 50 years, Florence Tormey Ingram; a brother, Edward; and a sister, Mary Sonberg.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle. Burial will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery in New Rochelle.
