NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Lena Guida Carlino Maro, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Sept. 16. She was 90.
Maro was born May 17, 1923, in New Rochelle to Antonio and Rose (DiMatteo) Guida. She worked for many years as a department manager at Macy’s and then for the New Rochelle School district for over 24 years. She was a congregant of Holy Family Church where she was a eucharistic minister as well as a lector for more than 50 years.
Maro is survived by her second husband, Frank Joseph Maro; daughter, Mickie Carlino Bonacci (Phil); son, Patrick Carlino (Carol Stevens) Carlino; four grandchildren; sister, Theresa Lalli; brother, Dominic Guida; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Carlo Joseph Carlino; grandson, Kevin Hynes; and siblings, Pat Guida, Frank Guida, Cecelia DiCarmine and Angelo Guida.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
