NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Lavinia Hodgins of New Rochelle, formerly of Mount Vernon, died April 15. She was 79.
Hodgins was born April 23, 1933, in Mount Vernon, to Philip and Lavinia Pizzuti. She worked for the City of Mount Vernon in the Civil Service Department for many years, retiring in 2009.
Hodgins is survived by her son, James Hodgins; daughter-in-law, Denise; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen.
Calling hours are Thursday, April 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Yannantuono Funeral Home. A blessing will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18 at Annunciation Church in Crestwood.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation.
