NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Joseph R. Giannotti, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on Monday, July 6. He was 86.
Giannotti was born on Aug. 14, 1928, in New Rochelle to Joseph and Mary (D'Onofrio) Giannotti.
He served in the Marines, and after his service, he was an officer in the New Rochelle Police Department for more than 27 years.
He is survived by his wife Celia; two sons, Robert and his wife, Linda, and Joseph and his wife. Sharon, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Giannotti was predeceased by his daughter, Joan
Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place in New Rochelle, with funeral services on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
