Joseph Fiore, 63, Longtime New Rochelle Resident, Industrial Designer

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Joseph Fiore, a longtime resident of New Rochelle died April 16. He was 63.

Fiore was born Sept. 17, 1949, in the Bronx to Nina (Battista) Fiore and Sante Fiore. He was an industrial designer for many years. He attended Pratt Institute of Technology with a full scholarship and received a masters in industrial design. He was on the design team that produced the first MRI. He designed a telescoping tripod, modern furniture and several other inventions. He was a modern artist and sculptor.

Fiore is survived by his mother; two sisters, Marie Marini and Rossana Fiore. He was predeceased by his father.

Calling hours will be Friday, April 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 at  9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
