John P. Moriarty, 90, Longtime New Rochelle Resident; Truck Mechanic

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - John P. Moriarty, 90, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

He was born Feb. 20, 1925, in County Kerry, Ireland, to John and Catherine Lehane Moriarty.

He was a truck mechanic who formerly worked for the Village of Larchmont and Neptune Worldwide Movers.

Survivors include his wife, Christine O' Connor Moriarty; two sons, John (Kate) Moriarty and Tom (Halyley May) Moriarty; one daughter, Christine (Jeff) Halley; one daughter-in-law, Karen; one sister, Breda Murphy; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, at the Church of the Holy Family, 83 Clove Road, New Rochelle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
