John L. Condelario, 87, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- John L. Condelario, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Oct. 17. He was 87. 

He was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Puerto Rico, to the late John and Grace (Saunders) Candelario. 

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American legion Post 8, The Knights of Columbus, the Hugh Doyle Senior Center and the Korean Veterans Association Chapter 91. 

He volunteered at the Schaeffer Extended Care as an entertainer and was an usher at Blessed Sacrament Church. 

He worked for more than 30 years at Hill Sails on City Island as a yacht interior designer. 

He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Dolores Shutts; his daughter Donna Spearman; his son John N. Condelario; his granddaughter Jennifer LaSante; his grandson Duane Spearman, Jr.; and his two great-grandchildren. 

Visiting hours will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
