Lynch was born in Brooklyn to James and Helen Henderson Lynch. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1950-53.
After the war, he graduated from St. John's University with a bachelor's degree in accounting, working as a financial executive at Corning Glass Works in Corning and as president of Salton, Inc. in New Rochelle.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, James and his wife, Silje, William, John, Peggy Marchini and her husband, Steve, and Kathleen Anthony and her husband, Lewis, and 14 grandchildren
Lynch was predeceased by his sisters, Muriel Lynch and Helen McWilliams, and brothers, Dr. Richard Lynch, Dr. William Lynch and Brian Lynch.
Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont.
A Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at Sts. John and Paul Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will be private.
