James K. Harragan, 80, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - James K. Harragan of New Rochelle, formerly of Pelham, died Tuesday, Oct. 28. He was 80.

Harragan was born Sept. 17, 1934, to Lucy and Edwin Harragan. He grew up in Bronxville and attended the Bronxville School and Wesleyan University. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1957, and spent three years with the counter intelligence corp. He was an advertising executive for over 30 years and more recently an executive recruiter. He was an arbitrator for Finra, past commodore of the Huguenot Yacht Club, former president of The Greens Homeowners Association, and a member of the Old Guard of White Plains.

Harragan is survived by his wife, Winifred; daughter, Sue; son-in-law, Steve Demarest; grandchildren of Park City, Utah; brother-in-law, Ralph (Jean) DeNunzio of Riverside, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Friday, Oct. 31 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pelham Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Pelham Manor.
