NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – James Joseph Drumgoole, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Jan. 21. He was 87.
He was born Feb. 11, 1925, in New York City to James Joseph and Elizabeth Taggart Drumgoole. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Fogg during World War II. Drumgoole worked as an attorney for the Catholic Home Bureau in New York City for many years.
Drumgoole is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Van de Kieft, whom he married on April 12, 1971; two children, Annmarie (Dan) McLaughlin and Paul (Sharon) Drumgoole; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Stevens.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Queens, N.Y.
