Irving G. Peterson, 90, Of New Rochelle, Worked For Garment Industry

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Irving Garfield Peterson, of New Rochelle and formerly of Mount Vernon, died Nov. 6. He was 90.

Peterson was born July 9, 1924, in Bluemont, Va. (Loudon County), to Louis Adam and Mary Howard Peterson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked in New York City’s garment industry for a long time.

Peterson is survived by his children, Milton (Maureen), Florence, and Robert (Adrienne); daughters-in-law, Juanita and Joyce; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many cousins; nieces, nephews; and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Harriet; and sons, Irving Jr., Marlon and William.

Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale.
