Helen R. Medaglia, 83, Longtime Resident Of New Rochelle, Waitress

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Helen R. Medaglia, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died Dec. 22. She was 83.

Medaglia was born July 23, 1931, in the Bronx, to John and Helen Rita (Crutchley) Houston. She was a waitress for over 25 years having worked at the Thru-Way Diner and Chumley’s Pub, both in New Rochelle.

Medaglia is survived by her children, Diane (Joseph) Piedmont, Janet (Larry) DeVita, Lucia Medaglia and Anthony (Marylou) Medaglia; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister, Joan Holiday. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Anthony; and sisters, Rosemary and JoAnn.

Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
