NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Harry G. Samalot, a longtime New Rochelle resident, died Sept. 24. He was 87.
Samalot was born Feb. 23, 1925, in Bronx, N.Y., to Manuel and Maria Rodriguez Samalot. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Margarita Castilla; three children, Rosemary Amlis, Margaret Fiellin and George Samalot; a sister, Lillian Ramos; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle.
