Hannah Bergman, Former New Rochelle Resident, 100

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Hannah Bergman, a former resident of New Rochelle, died Thursday, Nov. 13, at the age of 100 in Herzliya, Israel.

From 1961-75, she was a member of the girls physical education department at Albert Leonard Junior High School in New Rochelle.

From 1958-59, she was executive director of the Mid-Westchester Young Men's and Women's Hebrew Association (now the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester).

She is survived by her son, Jay, and daughter-in-law Julie, of Newington, Conn.; and a grandson, Aaron of New York City.

Her husband of 75 years, Moe Bergman, passed away on Feb. 20, 2014, at the age of 97, also in Herzliya, Israel.
