Hannah Bergman, 100, Former New Rochelle Resident

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Hannah Bergman, a former resident of New Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Nov.13, in Israel. She was 100 years old. 

Bergman lived in New Rochelle from 1957-75. She was a member of the girls physical education department at Albert Leonard Junior High School and served several terms as chair of the department. 

From 1958-59, Bergman was executive director of the Mid-Westchester Young Men’s and Women’s Hebrew Association (now the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester).

Bergman is survived by her son, Jay, and daughter in-law, Julie, of Newington, Conn., and a grandson, Aaron, of New York City. Her husband of 75 years, Moe, passed away on Feb. 20 at the age of 97.
