George Martin Talt, 87, Lifelong New Rochelle Resident, Retired Carpenter

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - George Martin Talt, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died Sunday, Sept. 7. He was 87.

Talt was born Dec. 6, 1926, to Lawrence and Marion (Keogh) Talt. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a “Sea Bee” stationed in Okinawa. He was a carpenter with the Westchester Carpenter’s Union until retirement.

Talt is survived by his children, Martin, Stephen, Kevin, Michael, Brian, Marjorie Worley, George, Robert, Kristine Lemmis and Nancy LaPietra; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Murphy) Talt.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle.
