Frederick John Talento, 92, Of Rye

RYE, N.Y. -- Frederick John Talento died at his home in Rye on Wednesday, April 22. He was 92.

Talento graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1945.

He served during World War II and was a member of the 309th Infantry, 78th Division, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and earning two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars with Oak Leaf Cluster, The European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.

After he came home, he worked as an account executive with the BBDO advertising agency, sales executive with Look magazine and The Saturday Evening Post, and as a vice president  of sales with Quebecor World Inc., all in New York.

Talento is survived by his wife, Norma, and his three daughters, Janette Talento Ley and her husband, Dr. Christopher Warwick, R.I.; Teresa Duncan and Lori Talento of Rye, and seven grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 25 at 10 a.m. at The Church of the Resurrection, 910 Boston Post Road in Rye.
