Francis J. Hennessy, 93, Of New Rochelle, WWII Veteran, Retired Firefighter

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Francis (Frank) J. Hennessy, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died Dec. 30. He was 93.

Hennessey was born April 30, 1920, in New Rochelle, to Patrick and Anna (Hussey) Hennessy. He was a retired New Rochelle firefighter, having served with the department for over 35 years. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 8 and the New Rochelle Elks Club.

Hennessey is survived by his children, James Hennessy, Sue Ann Power, Frank Hennessy, Nancy Morelli and John Hennessy; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sisters, Catherine Cullen, Anna Latino, Maria Martin and Patricia Dillon. He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Barbara.

Calling hours are Thursday, Jan. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3  at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
