Florence Scalia, 86, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Florence Scalia, former resident of the Bronx and for the past 18 years of New Rochelle, died March 14. She was 86.

Scalia was born Dec. 24, 1927, in New York City, to Antonio and Concetta Abbate. She retired from the New York City Board of Education Food Service Workers Union, and had worked at PS 144 in the Bronx.

Scalia is survived by several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Rosario ("Sardi"); brother, Louis; sisters, Angela and Mary; and daughter, Ann Marie.

Calling hours are Tuesday, March 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Place New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.Wednesday, March 19 at the Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
