Edward Reilly, 87, New Rochelle WWII Veteran

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Edward J. Reilly, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died Sept. 1. He was 87. 

He was born Sept. 4, 1924, in New Rochelle to James and Anna Holton Reilly. He worked as a steamfitter for more than 40 years before working at the New Rochelle Library for nearly 20 years. 

Reilly served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 8. 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Yolanda Terranova Reilly; three children, Jacquelyn (John) Castaldo, Kathleen Reilly and Mary Lu Kraft; a sister, Lucy Ann Campbell; a brother, James Reilly; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Bruce Kraft and a grandson, Jason Burgh. 

Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
