Dorothy E. Rose, 90, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Longtime New Rochelle resident Dorothy E. Rose died on Friday, Jan. 22. She was 90.

She was born in Waterbury, Conn., on April 27, 1925, to James and Mary (Morrissey) Kelly. The family moved to New Rochelle when she was 3.

She graduated from Albert Leonard High School in 1942.

After raising her children, she worked at the New Rochelle Public Library, retiring as the head of circulation in 1988.

Rose is survived by her sons, Andrew Jr. and Richard, and grandchildren Andrew, Kaitlin, Marie, Jaclyn, Richard and Andrew III.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Andrew; and daughter Susan.

Visiting hours will be from are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, in New Rochelle. A 10:30 a.m. mass will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Blessed Sacrament Church, in New Rochelle. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.
