Born in New Rochelle April 9, 1924, he was the son of the late Philip and Frances Schonberg.
Following graduation from New Rochelle High School, Schonberg attended Ohio State University and then served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a businessman, tennis player, dog owner and avid New York sports fan.
He was predeceased by a sister and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; son, Peter; daughter, Nancy Dalrymple; and three grandchildren.
