NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Charles Heppes, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died June 1. He was 84.
Heppes was born Feb. 14, 1931, in New Rochelle to Charles and Kathryn (nee Stubing) Heppes, serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retiring from the New Rochelle Police Department.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Joan (nee Murphy), one brother, five sisters and several brothers and sisters-in law.
Heppes is survived by his sons, Kevin and his wife Kathy, and Brian; daughter Ellen Stievfvater and her husband Andy; five granddaughters, Sarah, Cubby, Maggie, Lauren and Leann; sister Andrea Speigler; sister-in-law Ann Rich and brother-in-law Mathew Murphy.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle.
A funeral Mass is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Church.
Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery.
