NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Catherine V. Davis, a longtime resident of the Bronx and New Rochelle, died Nov. 2. She was 87.
Davis was born Aug. 6, 1927, in New York City, to William and Mae (McGlynn) Ferguson. She graduated from Cathedral High School, and she worked for many years as a social worker for the New York City Department of Social Services.
Davis is survived by her children, Michael (Barbara) Davis, Brian (Eileen) Davis and Colleen (Paul) Gardephe; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, John (Dolores) Ferguson. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Mickey; sister, Peggy (Richard) Coyne; and brothers, Bill (Joan) Ferguson and Barney (Jean) Ferguson.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc., 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery.
