SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y./JENSEN BEACH, Fla. - Catherine A. Burns, “Toots”, a current resident of Southampton and Jensen Beach, and a former resident of New Rochelle and The Bronx, died June 16. She was 73.
Burns was born Nov. 22, 1940, in New York City, to Cornelius and Nora Riordan. She worked for many years at the State Farm Insurance Agency in New Rochelle.
Burns is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Burns, Jr.; daughter, Katie (Bill) Mitchell; sons, Thomas (Liz) Burns, Jack (Jeannie) Burns and Brendan (Amy) Burns; 14 grandchildren; brother, Daniel Riordan; and cousin, Marie Weaver. She was predeceased by her parents.
Calling hours are Thursday, June 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20 at Holy Name Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
