Carol Neher, 70, Lifelong New Rochelle Resident

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Carol A. Neher, a lifelong New Rochelle resident, died Saturday, Sept. 15, after a battle with emphysema. She was 70.

Neher was born March 1, 1942, in New Rochelle to Frank and Anne Montanaro Blanco. She attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and graduated from New Rochelle High School. She worked for Unlimited Care Nursing Service for many years.

Friends and family were very important to her and she was devoted to her grandchildren, who called her "mema."

She was predeceased by her husband, George; two sons, Eric and Jeffery; and a nephew, Dougie Baron. Neher is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Paul) Gencarelli; two sisters, Geri Baron and Lorraine Snyder; a brother, Anthony Blanco; six grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kathy; a niece, Jessica (Peter) Warner and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church in New Rochelle. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in New Rochelle.
