Carl Mondello, 97, Longtime New Rochelle Resident, War Veteran

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Carl Mondello, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died July 31. He was 97.

Mondello was born in Mamaroneck to Salvatore and Maria (Cuppola) Mondello. He worked for many years as a truck driver for County Welding. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War and as a navy reservist for 25 years.

Mondello is survived by his children, Mary Ann Mutterer (James), Patricia Mondello and Salvatore Mondello; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Lucy (Perrino) Mondello; and six sisters.

Calling hours are Sunday, Aug. 4  from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel , 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Deerfield Beach, Fla.
