Benjamin J. DeLeno, 89, Of New Rochelle, WWII Veteran

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Benjamin J. DeLeno of New Rochelle died July 15. He was 89.

DeLeno was born Feb. 3, 1924, to Gennaro and Amelia DeLeno in Mt.Vernon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Mt.Vernon.

DeLeno is survived by his sons, Robert (Mary Jane) DeLeno and Steven DeLeno both of New Rochelle; one grandson; his former wife, Angelina (Estatico) DeLeno of New Rochelle; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Frank, Nicholas, Joseph, John; and sisters, Amelia Cogoni, Katherine Bruno, Filomina Januzzi and Lena Bianco.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 19, at  Holy Family Church, New Rochelle.
