Adelia Magalhaes, 87, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Adelia Magalhaes, a longtime New Rochelle resident, died Oct. 17. She was 87. 

Magalhaes was born April 23, 1925, in Portugal to Abilio and Rosa Capoa Vieira DaCosta. She married Antonio Magalhaes on Feb. 15, 1947.

She is survived by her husband; three children, Maria Helena (Fernando) Miranda, Rosa Maria (Bernie Sidley) Dinis and Leonore (Paul) Neto; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel in New Rochelle. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle. Burial will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery in New Rochelle. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Schervier Nursing Care Center, 2975 Independence Ave., Bronx, NY 10463.
