White Plains Hospital's Dr. Buddha Holds Outpatient Hours In New Rochelle

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Dr. Raj Buddhavarapu (“Dr. Buddha”), of White Plains Hospital Physician Associates Westchester Geriatrics & Palliative Care, began seeing patients in the hospital’s ambulatory center in the Wykagyl section of New Rochelle in late October.

Dr. Buddha is board-certified in geriatrics as well as in hospice and palliative care medicine. Dr. Buddha, a geriatrician, received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in India and completed his fellowship in geriatrics at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. He shares his expertise in geriatrics by providing consultative services to other physicians and family members to optimize the care of the community’s most elderly patients.

He is also a member of the Westchester County Multidisciplinary Task Force for Prevention of Elder Abuse. His goal is to provide guidance in identifying and addressing the specific needs and challenges of older patients, when they are hospitalized, in the emergency department and now as outpatients as well. 

The new office, White Plains Hospital Physician Associates and Imaging Center at New Rochelle, is at 1296 North Ave. in the Wykagyl Shopping Center.

The two-story, 18,000-square-foot facility is the first White Plains Hospital Physician Associates satellite practice and imaging center in the Sound Shore area and, in addition to geriatrics, includes physicians specializing in primary care, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology. The facility also houses a comprehensive diagnostic imaging center on the ground floor.
