What's Happening in New Rochelle This Weekend

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Events this weekend in New Rochelle include a book sale, information for seniors, and family fun with a children’s entertainer and a magician.

Friday

• Senior Benefits Information Center, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.                                                                                  

The Senior Benefits Information Center is in operation in the BTOP Help Center on the second floor of the library. The center is available to help older adults and their caregivers find information on various types of government benefits.

• Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library holds a monthly book sale, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.                                        

The event, held in the first-floor lobby, offers a variety of books and other items at bargain prices.

• Children’s Entertainer Will Shaw entertains at the New Rochelle Public Library: 1 p.m.                                                   

Popular children’s entertainer Will Shaw returns to the library's stage for children ages four and up. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis at the 145-seat Ossie Davis Theater. 

• New Rochelle schools are closed all day for the last official day of spring recess.

Saturday

• Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library Monthly Book Sale, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.                                      

The monthly sale continues in the first floor lobby. Check out books and other bargains.  

• BID Family Day Magic and Comedy with Jim McClenahan, 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.                                              

The popular magician-comedian was snowed-out of his January performance at the library, so he’s returning for a grand finale to April vacation week – and National Library Week. Participants of all ages will be able to enjoy new tricks and surprises.

Sunday

• STRIDE 5K Walk and Run, 7:30 a.m. registration and check-in. The race starts at 9:00 a.m. – Iona College

The Walk and Run will benefit the Jacee Lynn Capelli Diabetes Center at Sound Shore Medical Center. Registration is open for teams and individuals.
