New Rochelle City Council Meeting: 3:45 p.m.-9 p.m. The City Council has its monthly Committee of the Whole session to discuss various items, including environmental improvements to the New Rochelle train station. A public hearing is at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers to discuss a petition from Iona College about a proposed extension of occupancy levels for the schools North Avenue dormitories. Historical and Landmarks Review Board: 7 p.m. The board has its monthly meeting to discuss structures residents want to change. New Rochelle City Hall Annex, Room B-1, 90 Beaufort Place.
Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library Bookstore: 1 p.m.-3 p.m. The organization holds its biweekly sale in the back of the first floor of the library. Books and other items will be for sale. New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza.

Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series: 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. The Fabulous Sixties Rock Show tribute to '60s music features classic songs. There is no rain date. Hudson Park Band Shell, Hudson Park Road, New Rochelle.

Yard Waste: The New Rochelle Department of Public Works collects yard waste from both sides of Eastchester Road, Beechmont Drive and Barnard Road, to the south side of Quaker Ridge Road.
Friday, July 13
New Rochelle Farmers Market: 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Customers can purchase fresh produce and baked goods, and see cooking demonstrations, at this weekly market, which runs until the fall. New Rochelle Public Library Green, One Library Plaza.
Bastille Day Flag Raising: 10 a.m.11:30 a.m. The city raises a flag and observes Bastille Day, or the day when the French culture is celebrated. New Rochelle has a sister city, La Rochelle, in France. New Rochelle City Hall, 515 North Ave.
