Monday, Nov. 12

Veterans Day Closures: New Rochelle City Hall, school district offices, school buildings, and libraries are closed in observance of Veterans Day. Pelham schools, government offices, and libraries are also closed. The Pelham Picture House is open at 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

New Rochelle City Council Meeting: 3:45 to p.m. The council meets for its monthly committee of the whole session to discuss and hear information on variety of topics including the city’s proposed 2013 budget.

New Rochelle Big Read Finale Authors Visit: 7 p.m. Author and speaker Sergio Troncoso gives a presentation about how his Mexican heritage developed his life and stories. as New Rochelle’s 2012 Big Read of "Sun, Stone and Shadows: 20 Great Mexican Short Stories" concludes. Linda Kelly Theater. New Wing, New Rochelle’s High School. 265 Clove Road, New Rochelle.

Pelham First Quarter Deadline Extension: The Pelham School District’s first quarter ends Tuesday after Hurricane Sandy forced schools to be closed last week.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

New Rochelle Budget Workshop:  City officials meet to discuss various parts of the city’s proposed 2013 budget. New Rochelle City Hall, 5 to 8 p.m.

Re-Schedule of Pelham High School Haunted House: 7 p.m. Pelham High School seniors sponsor this re-scheduled event from Oct. 31 for elementary age students. Pelham High School, 575 Colonial Ave., Pelham.

Thursday, Nov. 15

Re-Schedule of the New Rochelle Big Read Finale: 5:30 to 9 p.m.  The New Rochelle Public Library’s “Day of the dead exhibit program is held after being postponed from Nov. 1 because of Hurricane Sandy.  The free public program is the finale for New Rochelle’s “Big Read” of Sun, Stone, and Shadows: 20 Great Mexican Short Stories," put on by the New Rochelle Public Library.

New Rochelle 325th Anniversary Community Meeting: 7 p.m. The 325th Anniversary Committee holds its next community meeting to give an update on planning for the city's 325th anniversary year in 2013, and detail events and opportunities. The event is open to the public. New Rochelle City Hall, 515 North Ave., New Rochelle.
