The participants were: Chairman Michael Kaplowitz of New Castle, Somers and Yorktown; Vice Chairman Jim Maisano of New Rochelle, Pelham and Pelham Manor; Majority Leader Catherine Borgia of Briarcliff, Cortlandt, Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining and Peekskill; Legislators MaryJane Shimsky of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Edgemont, Hartsdale, Hastings-on-Hudson,and Irvington; Ken Jenkins of Yonkers; Catherine Parker of Harrison, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle and Rye; and Peter Harckham of Bedford, Lewisboro, Mount Kisco, North Salem, Pound Ridge and Somers.
Kaplowitz led the bipartisan Westchester delegation and said Gov. Cuomo’s property tax proposal was one of the most important issues.
"Specifically, I would like to see much the county portion for medicaid costs shifted back to the state," said Kaplowitz.
Maisano serves as vice chairman on Legislation and Environment and Energy committees.
"I look forward to working with my colleagues on the county and state level to deliver the very best for Westchester residents," said Maisano.
Borgia has served as an elected official at the county and municipal level and as an advisor.
"NYSAC’s Legislation committee, which I serve, works collaboratively with our state lawmakers to help them understand how the actions they take in Albany impact residents at the county level," said Borgia.
Jenkins, chair of the BOL Federal and State Affairs Committee, characterized the role of NYSAC as lobbyists.
"We met with every member of our state delegation present and I intend to continue that dialogue to make sure that Westchester residents are properly represented," said Jenkins.
Shimsky is chair of the Westchester BOL Infrastructure Committee and was recently appointed to serve on the NYSAC Public Works and Transportation Committee.
"I learned useful tips in cutting road and bridge maintenance costs and gained new perspectives," said Shimsky.
