On Oct. 15, airport officials sent the plane for restoration, as their contract requires, lohud reported.

The National Naval Aviation Museum owns the airplane, a T-33 or "T-Bird,” and lends it to the Westchester County Airport on the condition that the airport maintains the plane. It had been five years since its last restoration, according to lohud.
