Three 9/11 Services Set Tuesday In New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Three services in New Rochelle will mark the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center.

memorial and candlelight vigil will be held at New Rochelle American Legion Post 8, 112 North Ave. The evening will consist of healing through remembrance, song and prayer. Patriotic songs will be sung and there will be remarks from those who lost loved ones in the attack.

At Iona College, 715 North Ave., a public memorial service will be held at noon in Memorial Park next to the school’s Ryan Library. Family members of alumni who lost their lives in the attacks have been invited.

Amy's Greenhouse will hold a ceremony and brick unveiling event at 3:30 p.m. outside at 129 Barnard Road.

The greenhouse is a living memorial to Amy O'Doherty, who was 23 when she was killed at the World Trade Center. Amy was the daughter of Geraldine Davie, a retired Barnard School teacher.
