The incident will involve a fictitious gas leak inside a semi-occupied school building, Building #2 on the SWBOCES Center for Special Services Rye Lake campus in North White Plains.

The SWBOCES Center for Special Services is located at 1606 Old Orchard Street, North White Plains.

This exercise will give participants the opportunity to drill for a potential emergency involving multiple victims as well as the chance to review the effectiveness of the current response plan and associated resources in the event of a real incident.

The drill will also give SWBOCES staff the opportunity to practice and evaluate current emergency response plans for the particular building where the fictitious emergency will take place.

On a typical day, the building can house up to 120 students and staff. Several students who are currently enrolled in the Emergency Medical Services class at the Career Services Center in Valhalla will participate in the drill and act as the victims who have fallen ill due to the gas fumes.
