NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - A registered sex offender accused of attempting a criminal sex act with a minor under 18 years old last year has moved to an apartment in New Rochelle.
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 31-year-old Max Levine, who moved to an apartment on Drake Avenue in New Rochelle.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Levine as a Level 2 threat, which means he is a "moderate risk of a repeat offense.”
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Levine was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual act on Dec. 21 last year. He allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse and contact with a stranger. Levine was arrested by the New York City Police Department Sex Offender Unit and sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years probation, which ends on March 24, 2027. He is now under the jurisdiction of the New Rochelle Police Department.
