The development, at 185 Lincoln Avenue, is being considered by the village board and has been in the works since 2012. Residents who live in the nearby Glenwood Lake neighborhood of New Rochelle have expressed concern about traffic, environmental impact, and construction noise, according to LoHud.

A petition against the development collected nearly 200 signatures and the residents have spoken out at village board meetings, according to Lohud. The development received planning board approval on Oct. 3.

The Glenwood Lake residents would like to see the property become a park, which Village Mayor Michael Volpe said was unreasonable and the traffic impact would be minimal. The village board will likely approve the site plan at its Dec. 12 meeting.
