Water pressure has been restored to more than a dozen New Rochelle homes following a water main break on Thursday morning.
The water main break was reported at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Thursday morning on Van Etten Boulevard, officials said. It was not immediately clear what caused the break, though crews had to break through a section of the roadway to make repairs.
Crews from Suez Water made repairs at the scene, though it took several hours and Van Etten Boulevard had to be closed temporarily as crews completed work in the area. Slight flooding was reported as a result of the main break.
The cause of the break has not been released by officials, though it reportedly may be related to the recent fluctuation in temperatures in the area.
