Police Blotter: Weapon of Choice - Nunchucks

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.. - A 20-year-old Mamaroneck resident was walking close to the intersection of North Avenue and Main Street at 12:28 a.m. Thursday morning when he was jumped by a group of 10 black males, according to police. The victim was punched in the head and kicked to the ground. Afterwards, his cell phone, wallet, and debit cards were removed.

At 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, a dispute occurred on the I-95 when the driver of a blue Plymouth cut off the driver of a pick-up truck. The truck driver followed the Plymouth into New Rochelle. Upon noticing that that he was being following, the driver of the Plymouth pulled off to the side of the road and got out of his car with a pair of nunchucks, a martial arts weapon. He chased the man following him around the pick-up truck until the victim was able to get inside his car and lock the doors. The Plymouth driver,  using his nunchucks, hit the side of the pick-up truck and immediately fled the area.

At 12:32 a.m. Wednesday morning, police were called to 180 Pelham Road where they found a dumpster completely in flames. The New Rochelle Fire Department responded quickly and extinguished the flames.
