Pipes Remain After New Rochelle Burglary

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Copper pipes were left at the scene of a burglary at 50 Washington Ave. between 7 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday New Rochelle Police Department Captain and Public Information Officer Joseph Schaller said.

An individual attempted to take the pipes, but was unsuccessful.

Entry was gained through a rear window on the first floor of the building after a plywood board was removed and noticed missing from the window frame.

The board was put up to replace a sheet of glass. It did not have anything to do with the incident, police said
