NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle residents can continue to take part in the Residential Rehabilitation Program, which provides funds for certain repairs to homeowners with qualifying incomes.

The program focuses on addressing critical home repair needs in order to preserve and extend the livability of houses owned by low and moderate income families within the city.

"Through this program, qualified homeowners can receive significant assistance, while our whole community benefits from an improved housing stock and stabilized property values,” said Mayor Noam Bramson in a statement.

Monies will be given only for service of major systems in the home that are beyond their useful life or have significant improvement needs.

Eligible repairs are limited to windows and exterior doors, heating, plumbing, electrical and roofing in houses that meet all required codes.

A brochure containing the initial application is available online and at the Department of Development, City Hall, on 515 North Ave. in New Rochelle.
