NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – That former dancer and choreographer Pearl Primus was actively involved in the Queen City of the Sound’s community with her husband Percival Borde?

The two moved to a residence on Colingni Avenue in 1970 when Primus volunteered her time to teach dance in New Rochelle Schools and the Community Action Agency.

Primus studied African, African-American and Caribbean culture.

Primus passed away in her New Rochelle home in 1994.
