New Rochelle Wastewater Plant Receiving Overhaul

NEW ROCHELLE, NY-- Rock is currently being blasted and broken up at the New Rochelle Wastewater Treatment Plant property near Five Islands Park.

Blasting will be occuring tomorrow, and possibly longer until the resource is clear for construction of a new building.

After much planning, construction to renovate and add to the existing buidlings at the plant began just over a year ago. The county project, expected to last three to four years, is part of a Composite Performance Implementation and Plant Expansion through a $173,000,000 loan. Funding is made possible through the New York State Clean Water Revolving Fund Program in conjunction with the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation.

Crews are out working at the site five days a week with the occasional Saturdays depending on scheduling.
