New Rochelle Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – A New Rochelle resident was arrested on drug charges Tuesday after a police officer discovered he was driving with a suspended license, New Rochelle Police Dept. Capt. Joseph Schaller said.

Andre Mann, 40, was charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 99 oxycodone pills, a felony; fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, a felony; seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, an additional oxycodone pill, a misdemeanor; unlawful possession of marijuana, a small bag of marijuana, a violation; third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

Police Officer Sean Kane arrested Mann after he found that he had cocaine on him as Kane asked him questions following a traffic stop.

Mann is accused of fleeing on foot toward Lockwood Avenue. He was apprehended by Kane at Lockwood Avenue and May Street.

Kane then searched Mann’s vehicle where he found the 99 oxycodone pills and the small plastic bag of marijuana.

Another oxycodone pill was found on Mann after he was taken to Police Headquarters.

Burglary: Twelve rifles were reported missing from the basement of a multi-family dwelling at 53 Beechwood Ave. between 6:30 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday. The residence had previously experienced a fire. The New Rochelle resident found the items missing during one of his regular check ups that he does on the house.
